Shu
Experienceing Shu umera from a customer’s view point
The Shu Umera counter in Selfridges situated to the left amongst the other beauty concessions, was as busy and inviting as the others. Its clean white surfaces, mirrored blocks and bold Black Logo, positively drew me towards the collections. The lit up photographic images and panels sitting under the products then brought the focus on Shu Umeras collections. The first products to catch the eye are the range of colour displays in eye shadows and lipsticks, followed by the awe at noticing the intricacy in eyelash design.
At this point one of the five or six staff at the Shu Umera counter rushes over offering help and showing me other lashes. He is a stylishly dressed, small Asian man, pleasant and enthusiastic. Moving quickly around the stand he encourages me to choose some lashes offering free application by himself and the chance to interactively choose my own gems and lash style and colours to create my own unique lashes for under £20.
Naturally I couldn’t refuse and while seating me and applying my personalised lashes he explains what he is doing, what glue and other make up tools he is using and how I should apply them myself at home. He also gives me pricing for further accessories and I ask him about his customers. He tells me that he frequently has repeat client base of varied age, younger women choosing bright colours and eyelashes, older focusing on bronzer mixes and also that his regular customers tend to be Asian.
As I pay at the counter I notice the screens playing ‘Tokyo Lash Factory’ images and girt sets on the till. I take my Selfridges bag (slightly disappointed it wasn’t a Shu umera bag) with the box to keep my lashes in and receipt inside and pleasantly waved on. Actually an idealistic shopping experience and the products, visual displays and service were fantastic. Apart from hoping for free decorative packaging or Shu Umrea style wrapping I felt sure that the brand had what it takes to maintain customer loyalty and that currently a lot more potential customers need to be made aware and drawn to the Shu umera product range.

LIPSY
New lipsy shop has just opened in the Vicy center Nottingham couldnt resist a browse and then couldnt help a few impulse buys!!!! It must have been the shiny window displays, cute ribbon tags, bright lighting and the changing rooms which were proper glam with photo frames of celebs wearing Lipsy on the wall that made parting with my cash so easy.

Harry Brown
http://www.harrybrownthemovie.co.uk/
Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Michael Caine is the perfect casting for Harry,Although possibly one of his last performances defenately one of the best. An odd thing to create a charachter that you could love like a Grandad and name as the height of 'cool'. very talented man :P
The film opened with an unusual introduction of the credits, which was simple yet captivating. The black screen, with white type fading in with each name from the left side of the screen caught your attention, whilst the sound from the film had already started. Consisting of a radio report setting the theme and mood.

NY
I have been lucky enough to visit New York a few times already, when travelling America, on holiday and research trips. My experiences have taught me you can take a different angle away from the city every time you go, it completely depends on where and when you go in the ‘BIG’ apple. The shop windows are a museum to themselves and I have to admit the welcoming attitude inside the stores particularly the Designer ones, with their amazing in store environments seems to put them ahead of the UK shopping experience. From another View point I feel the city lacks heritage and it’s blocks are nothing on London’s complex streets, alleys and historic squares. Also the consistent bombardment of ‘I love New York’ advertisement is tedious and I think there is a lot more hype around the place than actually necessary. Possible that people are told they should love visiting, living, being in New York enough times, they actually believe it?The city is really one that never sleeps and there is so much to see and do. A fantastic diverse place to go.
Chase & Status
Last Night we left Nottingham for Loughborough SU to see the UK Drum n Bass/ Dubstep kings chase & Status!!!!! The loughborough Student Union is pretty good as far as unions go, big with different romms levels and plenty of bars... but there is a serious shortage of girls. Not surprising being a sport Uni the club was full of big rugby style guys all out to see chase and status.
The music was amazing, so no wonder the dance floor was packed, but being full of big lads with way to much agression, the friendly rave scene wasnt quite the norm more of a mental mosh pit!!!!! Still Chase & Status kept the atmosphere going and amazing sound and their best mixes including their new song End Credits 'End Credits' is the lead single from the forth-coming soundtrack to the film 'Harry Brown'. Which was played just before their legendery popular tune Pieces Ft Plan B.

Cup cakes
has anyone noticed the unusual trend of baking and icing and cakes in general. Not only appearing on the baking scene and in trendy kitsch cafes, but also photographed on cards, stationary and other accessories. It may seem the 'Cath Kitsen' ideal house wife who makes lots of perfect pretty cakes, but still stays looking stereotypicaly perfect is with us again.

London Town
Growing up just South of London, has meant that one of the top five Fashion influential cities has been at my disposal for most of my life. London’s global connections and involvement in Fashion, Design, Arts, Entertainment and the media has done nothing but encourage my interest in Fashion and Brands. The presence of successful brands in the city has given great opportunity for work experience in the Industry, attendance to London College of Fashion and access to galleries, exhibitions and shows.I have a great love for London, being in central has always given the feeling of being apart of something, something big, something exciting and I generally love the busy atmosphere. Green Park and Mayfair have always been my favourite areas to wonder and Covent Garden has always seemed to hint a certain authenticity and ‘Organic reality’ ,where I find comfort in it’s individual inspiration.

The Young Victoria
Big fan of History related films based on true storie's, but did feel the Romantic drama felt a little unfinished. The costume's and sets were beautiful and filmed in a really creative warm light, and I got the impression that Director Jean Marc Vallee was attempting to get across the deep emotional burden's felt by the charachters at that time, but I think the audience should have been encouraged futhur to relate to Prince Albert (Rupert Friend). It would have been more dramatic to see more of the devlopment of different stages of Queen Victoria (Emily Blunt) and Albert's relationship.
It is still always a good moment to see a romance based on truth played out on screen, with amazing costume design by Sandy Powell. The dresses referencing some of the most intricate designs of the 1830's.
